NEIGHBORHOOD BOOTH COMPETITION
A Taste of Memphis

“Celebrate Your Greatness At Tiger Lane”
Thursday:  April 16, 2015
Tiger Lane @ the Liberty Bowl Stadium

On Thursday evening, April 16th, as a part of the 2nd annual regional Neighborhood Redevelopment Conference, back by popular demand, “A Taste of Memphis” neighborhoods;  a special event on Tiger Lane specifically designed to showcase neighborhood organizations, Community Development Corporations, faith-based organizations, and so many others, throughout the City of Memphis..

Several communities will be achieving milestones in 2015, so, in honor of them,  together, we will “Celebrate Your Greatness at Tiger Lane”.  Neighborhoods all across Memphis will be able to celebrate their unique qualities and accomplishments. The event will offer neighbhorhood organizations the opportunity to work together, further strenthening a sense of community.

The evening will be a festive atmosphere that will include entertainment and mobile food vendors.  We will have a “taste” of all kinds of food and music - enough to wet your tastebuds and musical pallet.   Get a taste of Memphis Bar-b-que, fried catfish, vegetarian delights, and much, much  more.  There will  be different kinds of Memphis music, from R & B  to smooth jazz to gospel.  We plan to have it all.  And of course, there’s you – the icing on the cake – the best in Memphis neighborhoods.   And that’s “A Taste of Memphis.”

 As participants in “A Taste of Memphis”, neighborhood groups will be able to work collaboratively to set up display areas.   This will be an opportunity for you to:

  • show conference attendees the many outstanding neighborhood projects you have done;
  • show off the awards you have won;
  • share that creative newsletter you’re so proud of;
  • boast about all the other amazing accomplishments you have achieved.

This will also give conference attendees a chance to meet you person-to-person. You can tell them all about your wonderful neighborhood and all the work you do to help make Memphis the “City of Choice” in which to live, work, and play.

NEIGHBORHOOD BOOTH COMPETITION

This fun competition was based on how unique a booth/display area is in concept, implementation, and effectiveness in clearly representing your community

This is your neighborhood’s opportunity to “Show and Tell” the conference attendees about your organization. You may create a display area that tells the story about who you are and what you do. This will be a time to “toot your horn” about the awards, projects, accomplishments, and especially the rich history of your neighborhood.
